Journal of Translational Medicine is an open access journal publishing articles focusing on information derived from human experimentation so as to optimise the communication between basic and clinical science.

The journal runs two awards to stimulate research in translational medicine. The Excellence in Translational Medicine Award endeavours to recognise outstanding contributions to the field of translational medicine research, and the Bedside to Bench Award aims to promote and reward studies aimed at the direct characterization of human disease through the study of human samples.
